CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning)

This course is specifically designed for teachers working with students learning a foreign language or those in immersion programs, with a particular focus on developing students’ language skills. You will learn how to structure your teaching around language, using strategies that make academic content more accessible and comprehensible. By centering learning on language development, you will help your students better understand and express their grasp of academic concepts, both orally and in writing. You will explore methods to guide your students in producing academic texts and presenting their knowledge while enhancing their linguistic proficiency. Objectives: - Lead teachers to adapt their approach to focus more on language in teaching, thereby improving students' communication and comprehension while maintaining their cognitive level according to their age. - Encourage them to stimulate students' verbalization of concepts to reinforce understanding and promote deeper learning. - Raise their awareness of the importance of scaffolding academic texts to make written and oral content accessible to all students, regardless of their level. - Invite them to promote deeper and more meaningful learning by developing methods that encourage student reflection and self-reflection. - Make them aware of the importance of making students' thinking and self-reflection visible to facilitate the understanding and processing of classroom content. - Provide them with a "toolbox" of varied activities and resources that they can adapt to their subject and students' academic level.
