May 12, 2026 - May 12, 2026

  • 1 Day

About

A practical, easy-to-use course for teachers who want to use storytelling to engage students in climate and sustainability topics in age-appropriate and hopeful ways…without needing to be a climate expert or creative writer. Integrating Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Climate Change Education (CCE) can be challenging for any teacher. Creating stories about alternative futures helps teachers to connect all learners to their imagination, turning facts into explorations that develop empathy and self-efficacy as core democratic competences. In this session, you will learn how to use futures-thinking to develop stories that unlock learners’ agency and encourage intercultural dialogue while remaining aligned with your existing curriculum. Grounded in ESD and futures literacy, this course offers clear frameworks and adaptable activities that help you integrate futures storytelling into your lessons without adding to your workload. The session includes: ✅concrete classroom examples, ✅guided activities, ✅and a downloadable workbook, enabling you to start using this approach immediately in subject lessons, interdisciplinary projects, or as pastoral care activities. WHAT YOU WILL GAIN AND BE ABLE TO DO: ✅Recognise futures storytelling as a powerful approach in ESD and CCE. ✅Make futures storytelling an entry point for ESD/CCE discussions. ✅Unlock learners’ agency through stories as sites of hope and action.
