About

ASPIRE: Agency, Safety, Positivity, Inclusion, Respect and Equity How the ASPIRE Principles Transform Wellbeing and Learning for All: Positive Education in Practice. Although much of the focus in education is on academic outcomes, the everyday experience in school has a profound impact on both well-being and learning for everyone. The ASPIRE principles of Agency, Safety, Positivity, Inclusion, Respect, and Equity together promote a culture that makes school a place where pupils want to be, find joy in learning, maintain a positive sense of self, and behave with consideration to others. Based on her own experience as well as research in psychology, effective education, and child development, this framework has been developed by Dr Sue Roffey. The primary and secondary editions of her book ASPIRE to Wellbeing and Learning for All: the principles underpinning positive education show what each principle means, why it matters, and give examples of putting this into practice. Published by Routledge, 2024. Dr. Sue Roffey will be accompanied by 1-2 teachers who will share their experience in applying these concepts to their classrooms, highlighting their challenges and successes. Date: Thursday, October 16th, 2025 Time: 16h - 17h CET (Swiss Time) The Panel discussion will be via Zoom. You will receive the Zoom link on Wednesday night the 15th of October.
