About
Student Ownership in Action is a 3-session live online implementation series for secondary teachers who are tired of being the main thinker, talker, and decision-maker in the room. It helps you get students thinking more, participating more, and taking more responsibility for learning without creating chaos, losing structure, or adding to your workload. Across three sessions, one week apart, you will learn a clear process for shifting the cognitive load from teacher to student and test that process in your own classroom between meetings. This is a practical, supported implementation, not just a reflection. SESSION 1: MAKING SPACE Spot where you are still carrying too much of the lesson, and choose one routine that opens up more room for student responsibility. SESSION 2: FROM SPOON-FEEDING TO THINKING Use practical structures that shift more thinking, discussion, and feedback work to students without losing clarity, structure, or rigor. SESSION 3: MAKE IT STICK Respond more confidently when students resist, hesitate, or wait you out, and leave with a realistic plan to keep building student ownership in your teaching. You will leave with tested routines, practical tools, and clear next steps for any secondary classroom, whatever subject or curriculum you teach. This course is for secondary teachers who are doing too much of the lifting in class and want students to step up without chaos, extra prep, or a complete overhaul. If the free masterclass resonates and you know you need more than reflection to change the pattern, this series gives you the structure and support to actually do it. Audience: Secondary teachers across subject areas Format: 3 live sessions, online via Zoom Dates: Wednesdays May 6th, May 13th, and May 20th. 2026 Certificate: Participants who complete the full series receive a certificate of completion.
