How can I cover the curriculum AND make time for inquiry?
A practical approach to bringing content and inquiry together in science
Feel like there’s never enough time for both? Discover Epistemic Inquiry: A teacher-led approach that helps your students build scientific knowledge while learning how to question, investigate and think deeply.

The challenge
You want your students to investigate, question and think deeply. But you also have a curriculum to get through.
So what happens? You teach the content first and try to fit inquiry in afterwards. Or start with inquiry and then rush to cover what your students still need for assessment. Either way, it can feel like you're constantly choosing between depth and coverage.

IMAGINE A BETTER WAY
What if covering content and developing inquiry weren't two separate parts of your teaching?
Epistemic Inquiry brings them together. Instead of learning content first and “doing inquiry” afterwards, your students build knowledge while continually questioning what they know, how they know it and what evidence supports their thinking.

Cover important scientific knowledge without putting inquiry aside.

Help students question evidence instead of simply accepting answers.

Make deeper scientific thinking part of everyday learning.

IMAGINE A BETTER WAY
What if differentiation
didn't have to take hours?
For years, differentiation has often meant creating multiple versions of the same lesson.
But what if you could keep the same high-quality pedagogy while dramatically reducing the preparation?

Adapt materials in minutes

Stay in control of every decision

Spend more time teaching, not formatting worksheets

What you will experience
This isn't a session about adding another teaching strategy to an already crowded programme. You'll explore a different way of thinking about how knowledge and inquiry can happen together.

See Epistemic Inquiry in action
Don't just hear the theory. See what changes when your students are asked not only what they know, but how they know it.

I will take you inside the thinking behind Epistemic Inquiry and show how knowledge, questioning, evidence and reflection can become part of the same learning process.
You'll leave with a different lens for looking at your own science lessons, and practical ideas you can begin exploring with your students.
What teachers say

Who is this for?
If you've ever felt torn between “getting through the content” and giving your students time to investigate, question and think deeply, this session is for you.

You don't need more content, more worksheets or another activity to squeeze into your lessons. You need a way to make deeper thinking part of the science you're already teaching.

Meet your presenter

Hi, I'm Alex.
Science educator, teacher trainer & creator of Epistemic Inquiry
I have spent more than 30 years teaching science from late primary through high school and exploring one central question:
How can students develop strong scientific knowledge while also learning to think, question and inquire?
That classroom experience led to the development of Epistemic Inquiry, a teacher-led approach that integrates knowledge-building with inquiry and metacognition. My work draws on Cognitive Acceleration pedagogy and keeps students focused not only on what is known, but how we know it, the quality of the evidence and what we need to investigate next.
In this masterclass, I will share the approach I developed to tackle a problem science teachers know well:
How to cover what students need to learn without sacrificing the questioning, investigation and deeper thinking that make science meaningful.

What if you didn't have to choose between content and inquiry?
Cover what matters.
Make students think
Join me live and discover a different way to approach science teaching—one where building knowledge, questioning evidence and developing deeper thinking happen together.
