I don't know if this happens to you too...

Every summer, I promise myself that I'll completely switch off.

And every summer, my teacher brain sneaks back in when I least expect it.

I'll be out for a walk, reading a book, or having coffee with friends... and suddenly I'll think, "Next year, I might try that differently."

For years, I used to feel guilty about that. I thought I wasn't really taking a break.

Now I've started looking at it differently.

Those little thoughts aren't a sign that I'm working.

They're simply a reminder that teaching isn't just our job. It's something we care deeply about.

The difference is that I no longer feel I have to act on every idea straight away. Some thoughts can wait until August.

Can I ask you something?

Has your teacher brain made an appearance yet this summer?

✍️What's one idea, question or classroom thought that has quietly popped into your mind during the holidays?

No pressure to solve it today.

I'd just love to know what's been on your mind.
