Teaching through storytelling

Good morning,

I just wanted to personally share something with you about a new InTA course, because I think many of us are facing the same challenge right now.

How do we talk with students about climate change, sustainability, uncertainty, and the future… without leaving them feeling powerless?

I think sometimes these topics can feel so big that we either simplify them too much or avoid them altogether. But one thing I deeply believe is that your students do not only need information about the future. They also need opportunities to imagine themselves within it.

That is why I am really excited about tomorrow’s (Tuesday, May 12th) course on Futures Storytelling.

What I love about this approach is that it shifts the conversation: from fear to possibility, from passive learning to agency, from “this is happening” to “what kind of future could we help create?”

And the good news is: you do not need to be a climate expert, you do not need to be a storyteller, you simply need openness, curiosity, and a willingness to create space for meaningful dialogue in your classroom.

Tomorrow, we will explore:

◾ simple frameworks you can use immediately

◾ ready-to-adapt classroom activities

◾ practical ways to integrate Education for Sustainable Development and Climate Change Education

◾ ideas that support reflection and creativity without adding more pressure to your workload

More than anything, I hope this session leaves you feeling inspired rather than overwhelmed.

I would really love to see some of you there.
