À propos

A practical, easy-to-apply course for teachers who want to start embedding Climate Change Education (CCE) into your subjects with confidence… without increasing your workload or feeling that you have to step outside your area of expertise. Across science, humanities, arts and vocational pathways, today’s world is full of small, tangible, meaningful signals of change, as indicators shaping hopeful futures in the present through innovation, policies, behaviours, community initiatives and cultural shifts. In this session, you will learn how to identify signals and use them with your students to connect their subjects to real-life climate and sustainability issues. Grounded in futures literacy and Education for Sustainable Development, this approach helps you introduce Climate Change Education through manageable steps that make learning relevant, intercultural, hopeful, accessible, and action-oriented. This session includes practical examples related to curriculum, guided activities and a workbook, enabling you to get started immediately in integrating CCE into your lessons and home-room activities. What you will gain and be able to do: • Identify and explore signals of change connected to your own subjects and curriculum. • Use signals of change as rapid entry points for climate and sustainability discussions in your classroom. • Guide your students to look for signals themselves and explore their potential impact. • Understand how this approach supports your students’ agency, develops democratic competences and increases hope. • Align with Intended Learning Outcomes for assessment. Modules • Why Scan for Signals? • How to Scan for Signals of Change. • Signals in Your Subject for CCE. Audience: Teachers in any subject. No prior knowledge of Education for Sustainable Development, Climate Change Education or Futures Literacy is required. Duration: 1 x 3-hour sessions complete with a learning workbook.
