Meet your presenter
Hi, I'm Neil
Educational leader, teacher educator and secondary education specialist
I’ve spent more than 25 years working in secondary and international education, first as a teacher and later as an educational leader and teacher educator.
I began my career teaching English and Drama in the UK before discovering the IB and moving into international education. Since then, I’ve worked in Oman, Belgium and Germany, taking on roles including Head of English, Director of Teaching & Learning and, for more than six years, Secondary School Principal.
Alongside my work in schools, I’ve led workshops for the IB and other organisations, working with teachers around the world on teaching and learning, curriculum and assessment. I’m currently working at Rossall School in the UK.
Throughout my career, I’ve remained fascinated by what actually happens in the classroom, and by the small, practical changes we can make to create an environment where students are more engaged, more involved and ready to learn.
In this masterclass, I'll share practical strategies I've developed through years of classroom practice and observation, but I'll also invite you to look closely at what happens in your own classroom and identify the small changes that could make a difference.
