The Challenge
Your lesson is ready. But are your students?
After recess, PE, lunch or another lesson, students often arrive carrying the energy and emotions of what came before.
They may be physically present, but not yet ready to learn.

Imagine a better way
What if the first few minutes changed the whole lesson?
Students cannot simply switch from one environment to another on demand. By understanding cognitive switching, you can help them transition into learning more calmly and intentionally.

Create calmer lesson starts.

Build stronger engagement and relationships.

Spend less time settling the class.

What you will experience
See how simple transition strategies can change what happens when students return to learning.

See the strategies in action
Don't just hear about regulation. See what it looks like in practice.

Most importantly...
This isn't about managing behaviour. It's about recognising what students need before learning can begin.
You'll leave with practical routines designed to help students arrive calmer, more focused and more ready to engage.
What you'll take back to your classroom

Who is this for?
If transitions, unsettled starts or student regulation are part of your classroom reality, this masterclass is for you.

If you want to spend less time settling students and more time connecting, teaching and learning, you're in the right place.

Hi, I am Laura
Educator specialising in nature-based learning & wellbeing
I’ve spent more than 20 years working with children and educators, from public schools in Toronto to international education in Switzerland. My work in nature-based pedagogy, mindfulness and yoga has shaped my understanding of what children need to feel calm, connected and ready to learn.
I believe that before we ask students to focus and learn, we need to help them become ready to do so. My approach is practical: simple strategies that support smoother transitions, greater wellbeing and more meaningful learning.
In this course, I will help you understand what happens when your students move between activities and environments — and show you practical ways to help them regulate, transition and become ready to learn.
