🪦Most of us have a strategy graveyard 🪦
You know the one.
The brilliant protocol from a PD session.
The reflection routine you meant to try.
The discussion structure you saved in a folder somewhere.
Great ideas, sitting there like clothes in the closet with the tag still on.
And honestly, it makes sense.
A strategy can sound amazing in a workshop and still fall apart in the middle of period 4 when students are tired, you’re watching the clock, and the silence feels just a little too long.
That’s why I think the missing piece is rehearsal.
Before trying a new ownership strategy, take five minutes to plan:
This tiny bit of rehearsal changes everything.
Because the goal isn’t to collect more strategies.
The goal is to make one small shift that actually reaches students.
Student ownership doesn’t grow from having the perfect idea.
It grows when we plan the moment where we step back and let students step in.
